hi shoshana. sometimes double tap doesn't work properly, i don't think
it is the fire. it is a bad tap.

sometimes when tapping, one of my other fingers might alight to the
right top of the screen, and, i'll open what is a menu item there that
i can't see but probably is there! so, stuff happens.

as for tapping? anywhere on the screen (i go for the middle) should
work just fine.

if you get a mis-tap, just go back to where you were and try again.

always has worked for me.

don't strain those eyes.

settings (thanks to several folks) and was able to go through the steps to
enable my WIFI successfully, but ...when I first started with the Fire, I
was told I could double tap anywhere on the screen and the Fire would

I'm a bit confused.  Also, when selecting buttons, such as OK when powering
off, I'm finding that I have to double tap on the button, not just anywhere
on the screen.  Have I inadvertently changed something I didn't want to
change ..or ..um ..oh, I'm confused, AGAIN.  This too shall pass, though.

Oh, and when I was in the Firestorm users guide section I couldn't explore
by touch to get the Fire to read the articles displayed.  Again I had to do
this visually.  I CAN do that, but it's a last resort measure I'd much
rather avoid.
