Are the speakers on the HD eight front facing? I didn't think so, but I'm not
sure.

Hi Mary. It was strictly audio as I prefer stereo over mono and at least to
my ears, it does sound noticeably better. It's a fuller sound and due to the
fact that I decided to go for a refurbished unit, the hd8 was only 20 bucks
or so more expensive than the 7.

Hi Rick,
I am curious why you got the HD eight instead of the less expensive fire.
Does it sound that much better? I assume that the purchase must have to do
with superior audio. But maybe there something else I'm missing.

Hello. Best wishes for 2017 to all.
Does anyone out there have a link to step by step directions on how
to install Google Play onto a Fire hd8 tablet? I'd like to have the
flexibility of being able to use either store if possible. I don't
mind having to side load if that is what it takes but not sure if
there is more than that involved to get it working. I guess I'd also
have to find the Google Play .apk file somewhere. Any tips much
appreciated.
