Well, I did try double tapping on an app that I didn't think I would be able to
uninstall, and I did get entering selection mode which was nice. That didn't
happen within the Kindle app. Anyway, I see the uninstall which is disabled,
and then nothing else, no other choice. Nothing about removing from home
screen, just the back button and then going the other way the announcement
about my fire. So I'm not sure what's going on there. I guess I'll wait for My
cited better half to wake up. Smile.

There is an easier way to do this. Do a long press on the app, and it will
take you into selection mode. The two choices are to remove the app from
home, or to remove it from the device. Removing it from home is at the top of
the list. Just press enter on your keyboard, or double tap on the selection
and you will no longer see the app. It will be on the kindle in the apps
list, but not on the home screen. Faith

Hi Mary. At this time, the best you can do, is create a folder and drop the
apps into the folder on the home screen. This should make for a much cleaner
look. The following link says it all.

However, I would do this with sighted help since the operation can be
difficult and/or confusing with screenreader, but, perhaps worth it
considering how much cleaner the screen can become!
Stay well ... William

There are quite a few items on the Kindle home screen which I would
like to dispose of. These are things I will never use such as the
calculator, free time, and more. For other things, I would like to be
able to move them. I would like settings up in the top row, not down
at the bottom. Can this be done with the screen reader, and if so how?
