Hi all. Laz is correct. Timing is everything. The newest evolution of
the 7 inch Fire tablet has hands-free Alexa although Fire tablets
bought as far back as 2015 have Alexa as part of software updates,
but, not hands-free. Before that no dice. My wife has a 7" Fire HDX
(bought in December, 2013) with the old carousel and never updated to
the Home screen grid format, no Home button/icon which means no Alexa,
but, the screen resolution is a WOW!
