Hi William,
I have an HD eight, and I have to admit that I did purchase an HD 10 when they
were on sale for Black Friday weekend. I like the ten, because it’s noticeably
faster more responsive than theeight. And it has more space built-in. Plus as I
mentioned in an earlier message, for some reason, my 8 stopped seeing a
perfectly good 64 GB Samsung SD card. Anyway, I haven’t found the dictate
button on either one of those, I’m OK with the Amazon keyboard. In fact, for
typing, I really prefer it over the android keyboards I have used, because it
is stable. That is, touch a letter, and that’s what you get when you lift your
finger. But if there were a dictate button, that would be nice. I haven’t
really paid much attention to that discussion about talking type keyboard. I
guess I’ll have to go look for it and see if I like it as well. I assume if I
don’t, I will be able to delete it and switch back to the Amazon keyboard. I
also haven’t tried typing with the hands-free Alexa, although I suspect it
won’t work, since it still won’t actually open apps on the device. Still, worth
a shot.

Hi Mary. Which Fire tablet do you have?
My Fire 6 inch 4th generation tablet has a voice tab on the default
virtual keyboard. However, the voice tab was taken off of the virtual
keyboard on my 7 inch 5th generation Fire tablet.
That is why I use the TalkType Voice Keyboard on that Fire tablet. It
has a talk or dictate button.
Though, one might wonder if Alexa can do the same with the new 10 inch
Fire tablet with hands free Alexa.
Stay well ... William

I believe I read somewhere in voice view support recently that it is
possible on some fire tablets to dictate, like you can on regular
android or iOS. I have not found a dictate button. That isn’t to say it
doesn’t exist.
If someone has found one or knows which tablets it’s available on, I
would love to know. Or am I dreaming this whole thing up?
