Thanks, David. I tried some of this, but will try it again.

The older versions of PC Kindle do indeed have an inaccessible one off login screen though it is all accessible after that and you do not have to repeat the login..

Basically I have got used to it now and generally when I install the old apps  I can get past it. There are 2 edits boxes.  Although you will not hear anything you should be in the user ID edit box as the app starts. Type in your user details – normally your email address for Amazon.

Tab once and you should be in the  password edit box. Type in your Amazon password and try pressing enter.

If this does not work then tab once to what will be the unannounced OK button and again press enter.

If this does not work – close the program and try again.

Another way of doing this which has also worked for me is to use Jaws OCR if you have Jaws.

As the program starts press insert space and C for current window and you should have the login dialogue revealed by Jaws OCR. Use the Jaws cursor to navigate to the user name edit field and use the virtual mouse click with  numpad slash.

Type in your user name.

Run Jaws OCR  again and repeat with a mouse click this time in the password field. The jaws OCR  process should also reveal whether you have actually succeeded in typing in your user name email address.

After clicking on the password field type your password.

Run Jaws OCR a final third time and this time do the virtual mouse click on the OK button.

Happily the app seems to let you try a lot of times to get in.

Yeah, this is exactly the problem I'm having, too. Even the work around directions on the Codex site do not seem to work to get the older set up registered, unless maybe Amazon is now blocking such registrations from older kindle set ups.

Hi Ann and all. Of course it works. Why do you say it doesn't? What

Windows OS do you use? What version of Kindle for PC do you use?

        Stay well. William

Does anyone know of a way to convert newer Kindle books in to Epub

            Thanks,
