OK, I think it's time for someone to insert the Twilight Zone theme song at this point. For kicks I went back onto the Kindle store, entered an author and the formatting is back to what it was; no huge list of departments and I could easily find page 2 of my search results. I am tempted to apologize and say that I'm feeling a bit foolish right now except that I didn't imagine the formatting issues I reported in an earlier message. Hopefully this was just a fluke?

Hi.
I know that to some of you, maybe to most of you this complaint will seem a bit silly. It seems that Amazon has made some minor but very noticeable changes to the search results on the Kindle store. These changes in no way break accessibility but they do make it a bit harder to move to the next page of search results. Let me describe my situation and what things used to be like and then I'll compare them to what I'm seeing this evening. I'm using Windows XP SP3 with NVDA 2012.3 as my screen reader. My browser is Seamonkey 2.13.2 which uses code found in Mozilla Firefox. I am using the Noscript addon and the Adblockplus addon to block third-party ads and other scripts. Here's how things have worked on the Kindle store in the past. Suppose that I've typed in the name of an author in the search edit box on the Kindle store. I press enter and the first page of results appears. Like JAWS and Window-eyes I can move from one book to the next by pressing the letter H to move from one heading to the next. When I get to the heading "your country or region: what's this?" I know that I've passed the last search result on this page and of course I need to move to page 2 or screen 2 to browse through the next page of results. If I want to do this it's always been pretty simple. If I hear "your country or region what's this" I just move up a few lines to go to the link for the next page and I press enter and I'm on page 2 providing me with a fresh list of new search results.

As of tonight here's what I notice. I move from one heading to the next and I eventually hear "your country or region what's this?" However, now when I press up arrow there are tons of links for other departments such as Books, Movies, etc. The link for the next page of search results is actually a few lines after the listing for the last book. This means that if you move heading by heading and you go past the last search result it's pretty tricky to easily jump to the next page. You can invoke a links list by pressing insert-f7 or insert-tab if you're using Window-eyes to find the link labeled "next" but the older way was much easier. I'm wondering if any of you have noticed this new change and what you think of it.

David
