Hi Henry. Yep. It never can get too warm for me!
Here is the total poop. Note, that if you have a sighted person help,
keep on voice view so that you can hear what they see. At least that
is what I would do.
In a nutshell.
1. Tap on the Alexa app on your Fire homepage.
2. As you swipe down, right after Home/Main, you will hear Navigation
Menue link. Tap on this.
3. You will be now in a drop-down menu. Look for Settings. Tap on this.
4. Swiping, you will be presented with more choices.
5. First, you will be presented with devices registered. I have two,
so, I tapped on the one I was using.
6. Of course, more choices. There is a laundry list of stuff. Titled
General settings, device name and location; address, country. And,
further down time zone, temperature and distance!
That's the gold mine, measurment units!
Notice that you are turning on and off metric measurement. In other
words, tap on the temp and distance link to make your default metric.
Because, it seems that US is the default. Go figure.
Here in the states we are the only country that defys the standard. I
mean, we were debating this stuff when I was in high school 50 years
ago! Long live metric!
