Good grief! Hang in there. Good thing Clyde is a natural breathing =
dog.
I'll be thinking of you.

  A big "atta boy!" to Clyde, too.

  Can they do something about your breathing? All the best to both of =
=3D
  you!

  good job Thane.... =3D20
  I have noticed that when I get dizzy Clyde will put his front feet up =
on =3D
  my
  lap. the only way I have reinforced this is to pet him. I will now =
be
  c/ting him. I had to go to the ER on Friday night because I couldn't =
=3D
  breath
  and my inhaler wasn't working. Clyde kept jumping on me. I found out =
=3D
  that
  my diaphragm isnt working right and I don't get rid of the co2 in my =
=3D
  body.
  I think Clyde was trying to tell me this. so now I am going to =3D
  reinforce
  this jumping and when he does this I will check my breathing. I =
didn't
  realize that we have such a great bond already. he doesn't do this =
all =3D
  the
  time just when I feel dizzy.

  as far as retrieving he is grabbing the tube now and I haven't been =
=3D
  saying
  any command for it yet just C/Ting for it. =3D20

    Its been an interesting week around here. I have been focusing more =
on =3D

    hearing alert training but continuing my efforts to work on Thane's =
=3D
  guide=3D20
    training in the community. Its very cool how much easier training =
goes =3D
  if
  I=3D20
    wear him out a bit first before doing much focus on what he has =3D
  learned to

    do. He is very easily distracted by people still but that is to be
  expected=3D20
    at his age.
    Today though something awesome happened. You know how when people =
are =3D
  in=3D20
    Driver's ed they always warn you about the double tracks in case =3D
  another=3D20
    train may be coming. Well in Guide training it should be that =
another =3D
  car=3D20
    could be coming giggle
    Thane did a wonderful halt at a curbcut when he knew a car was =
coming =3D
  with

    no cues of any kind from me. After the car went, I told Thane =
*Across* =3D
  and

    he looked at me and looked the other way and looked at me and =3D
  *REFUSED* to

    go. Another car was coming the other direction that I had not heard! =
=3D
  Oh
  My!=3D20
    I never expected anything like this so soon. Granted we were on the
  quieter=3D20
    streets and there were no people to distract him, but still...
    Then we crossed and he used the driveway we need to for a curb cut =
so =3D
  we=3D20
    could keep on walking. Later when we crossed the street and headed =
=3D
  back=3D20
    towards home he also used another driveway for the down curbcut =3D
  because
  the=3D20
    sidewalk ends there.
    We have been working with *Back* also as we maneuver together. Early =
=3D
  on it

    was a hassle to take him to dump the garbage or get the mail. He was
  always=3D20
    in my way navigating especially at the mail as they stupidly have =
=3D
  about 23

    mailboxes lined up in a row rather than locked boxes here. Now all I =
=3D
  have
  to=3D20
    do is say back and he takes a step back for me so I can do what I =
=3D
  need.
  We=3D20
    practice it as we walk too- doing halt, back, behind, sit, etc. Now =
=3D
  that I

    have a lesh setup that really works for us things really are picking =
=3D
  up.
    I think though that he may be getting on the chubby side due to the
  increase=3D20
    in training indoors and not enough real energy burning activity this =
=3D
  past=3D20
    month. I can not wait until the better weather comes and we can get =
=3D
  out
  and=3D20
    train more regularly without worrying about rain. Thane gets pretty =
=3D
  dirty
  in=3D20
    this weather.
    But for today I am going to sit here and reflect on that awesome =3D
  traffic=3D20
    work Thane did, even if it was on a quieter street with no =3D
  distractions.
