Hey you trained Joie from very young didn't you if I remember rightly Lisa? ----- Original Message ----- From: Lisa Salinger To: vi-clicker-trainers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 2010 3:56 AM Subject: (VICT) Re: I'm Back! Donna, this is excellent. I really hope Alice works out for you. When I wasn't sre whether Joie could do the work, I figured that I'd at least learn a ton during the training process. Best to you! Hi guys, I've not been on here for a while as with full time work etc I was finding it hard to keep up with mailing lists. I hope some of my old friends are still here - Karen, Sandy, Anne, Rox etc. I've got lots of news for you. 1. My job ended on 5th July so I'm now at home looking for other stuff. But most importantly: 2. I have a yellow Labrador puppy, just ten weeks old! I've called her Alice, and mean to train her up as a service dog when she's older if hse has a mind to do the work. I'm not in desperate need of a dog for myself. Jack is only 5 and still doing well, but for ages I've wanted to try and train my own dog, and it's very much frowned upon here in the UK, which makes me want to do it even more. I've come on here to exchange ideas and also to learn, as many of you guys have trained your own dogs several times over so are much more expert than me. I'm so excited about it all but realise of course that Alice may not work out and that in a sense, taking a puppy is a gamble because you do all that house breaking etc, only to find the dog does not make a good guide. Anyway, it's really good to be back on here. Alice and I start puppy socialisation classes on 7 August so I'll let you know how that goes. I've charged the clicker with her and she's learned sit, give a paw and nearly learned down so far. I got her two weeks ago. Best Donna Waring
