I am still pretty new to this Android (and smartphones generally), but as far
as I know I have an updated version of Talkback, and it does indeed say
“app-name was successfully installed” when I download and install a programme.
But there’s plenty of odd behaviour to go round and I basically have no
explanation for anything. I’m not a power Talkback user and there are still a
lot of things I don’t really grasp. Anyway, somehow I’m not surprised that
Talkback behaviour is not universal across the board.

Subject: [vi-android] I wonder if this Talkback feature will ever be brought
back.
I remember back in the days, Talkback would do something really really cool
when in the play Store installing an app.
It used to be once double tapping on install, once installed, Talkback would
automatically say, app name was successfully installed.
Now, you have practically no indication. If it wasn't for my very little vision
being able to see that the open and uninstall icons appear in green near the
right middle of the screen, I'd have no way to know when it was done aside just
looking every so often.
I'm wondering how hard it would be for this to be reimplemented, as I really
thought that was a very very nice thing to have. I was saddened to see the
feature stop working.
Chris.
