The teacher must be knowledgeable of NAEYC's developmentally appropriate practice as well as Creative Curriculum, ESI-R, Ages and Stages Questionnaire-SE, Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing Standards, surrounding a center based program. Two years direct service as a teacher in an Early Childhood classroom. Certification in food Safety and Sanitation, CPR and First Aide desirable. Minimum Requirements: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development Education. One year direct service in an Early Childhood classroom or new graduate with student-learning experience. Other Requirements: Must pass fingerprint background check, provide medical evaluation forms every two years with a TB test, be able to lift a 30 pound child, move from sitting on the floor to standing with ease multiple times throughout the day, be able to walk, run, and participate in physical activities with small children. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, and sit at the children’s level. In case of emergencies, may be required to pick up and carry children. The teacher must possess the ability to lift, move and rearrange classroom equipment and supplies.
