Hello Amy,
I tried rebooting the vario, and nothing has changed. And no, there
was no sound when it was connected.
I am not sure if my computer has updated the Windows...but, it is
rather annoying when I can't get it to function as promised.
Just to clarify, the reboot, do I have to do it while it is plugged
into my laptop or on its own? As mentioned previously, it can charge,
just not detected as a portal storage device.
Thank you.
Regards,
Nicole

I don't think I realized I had to reboot the Vario when it was plugged into
the computer, though it was asking me questions I didn't know how to deal
with, and I can't currently remember what. However, It had something to do
with Audio Play. However, I updated JAWS; then the computer decided it would
be a monumentally good time to update. After that I had a drive called
VarioUltra. I think I successfully copied something to it.

Are using a Mac or a PC? What happens when you try to connect?

I have never been able to have my vu as a storage drive. I would have
liked it; I do fine using the stick.

Hi,
I have tried with another cable: still can't be detected as portable
device.
Well, I am sure I could copy the file onto a USB-drive, but the point is,
something has gone wrong because I should not have to do that all the
time. If I have a suitable USB cable around, then, I should be able to
transfer the file from PC to VU without an extra step.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Nicole

Hello,
I’m not sure exactly what is going on. I would try another cable just
in case that’s the issue. Does the cable fit snugly into the VU ? As
an alternative, you might put the files you were trying to transfer
onto a thumb drive and then copy them to the flash disk on the unit.

Hi,
Previously, I managed to connect my VU to my laptop and had it
recognised as one of the storage device.
However, I can't seem to do that again now. I thought it could be the
issue with the lead, but it is on a 'quick charge' from my laptop.
What could have gone wrong???
I was hoping to put some files onto the unit for reading. And my unit
is relatively new, bought last July.
Please advise.
Thank you.
