Hi all.
When you copy the update fille to the VarioUltra storage via windows explorer
using mtp protocol, it happens sometimes that the update file will be corrupted
during the copy process. In this case the update will not be cconducted
successfully.
You can try copy the usdate file to the usb stick, connect the stick to your
VarioUltra and then perform an update from the stick.
Regarding version 1.42 and the additional patch file. If you made your
Bluetooth pairing under IOS 10 and then updated to IOS 11X, you don't neeed to
install the last patch. Youlr VarioUltra will keep the connection. But if for
some reason you will need to create a new pairing or you will buy a new IOS
device, then your IOS device running IOS 11 will not create the bluetooth
pairing with your VarioUltra without this latest patch.
Best regrds.
Pvel.

Ok, so I’m wondering if it has to do with the format of the file name. The
built in documentation on my device for version 1.33 says that the device is
expecting a very specific file format. Vario_update_vxx.yy_ll_cc.zip
I’m also confused because About says I’m running version 1.32 but the help
documentation is for 1.33.
The file name in DropBox has the date of the update instead of version number,
language, and country code. I’m wondering if I change the file name to match
the format the documentation says it is expecting, if that will allow it to
install properly.
Anyone know?
Thanks,
Greg

You are not alone, I have been having the same problems.

Hello all,
I have a VarioUltra 40 that is currently running Firmware 1.32. I have
downloaded the Firmware 1.42 update from the dropbox link on the Baum support
page but am not able to get the update to work. I copied the zip file to
VarioUltra Storage using File Explorer in Windows. I cannot find the System
menu in Settings on my display so I used the B7+B8+D3+D6 to start an update. It
appears that it is running and update and my device restarts once or twice.
Once it restarts though, it is still running 1.32 when I look at the About
section under Help.
Can anyone offer any advice?
I also tried copying to an emptyUSB stick and copying from there to the Flash
memory. Again, I had to use the same command though because System is not
showing up under Settings.
Thanks for any help.
Best,
Greg
