Hi Gary and List!
Alas I must report that, this didn't work for me. Still getting the same old
error. Nice try though! I know the folks at baum are hard at work on this
issue. Perhaps it's an incompatibility between hid tables? My iphone 4 s is an
older device however the interesting thst is that my ipad running the same
version of IOS 9.3 works flawlessly. So as the saying has it, go figure!
Kind Regards! Jack and Becky

I have been playing around with this issue a bit to see if I can work out
what mighteffect the HID connection error when it appears.
I was getting the error this morning, but after I changed a setting in the
"braille display mode" menu in the notetaker - the connection problem went
away.
I unchecked the "enable bluetooth automatically" option.
What I noticed then was that as soon as I switched to display mode, (and my
iPhone is assigned to channel 1) the VU brought up the phones focussed item
immediately. Sleeping the phone, I was also able to wake it completely
consistently with the s2 plus (in my case dot 4)
Now I don't think this is the whole story, because The connection and waking
process often works well even when that check box was checked in the "braille
display mode" menu, but it did have an immediate effect unchecking it when
the HID connection error was happening.
Interested to hear others experiences.
And I agree with those who point out that this is beta software, and
therefore such bugs can be expected; it is a great feature and does set the
VU apart from other braille displays.
Best
Gary
