I am little behind about new stuff like fire tablet. I never hear of it before.
Can anyone tell me more about it?
Thanks,

Hi. I've just spent a little time playing with navigation on the fire tablet
and it's wonderful...much nicer than navigating swiping across the screen.
It's also far quicker and much more responsive too. The list of shortcut
keys, basic as they are all work but Peter Corn has, in some instances, put
down the wrong key command for doing certain things. So, in his email which
Mary received he put down that dots 1-3-4-6 chord was Z when in fact it is X.
It is the z chord that you need to navigate back a screen.
I have just navigated to the kindle first page on the kindle store and bought
my monthly entitlement all using the Braille display and not a single finger
on the screen at all so that's brilliant.
The one thing I can't seem to get working is keyboard input which is a shame
really. There aren't any shortcut keys on the list to indicate that you can
do it either. I've looked in keyboard settings on the fire tablet and you
don't seem to be able to switch from fire standard keyboard so don't know
quite how you would get around this. You can certainly navigate to and
activate edit fields. I was able to get to the app switcher and the
notifications shade also.
I might drop an email to Peter Corn myself to see if he can cast any light on
this one. I also have no idea about GPS and honestly, I'd rather use my
iPhone for that. A tablet, to me at least, is a little too big to be
carrying round on the move. Not to mention mine is Wifi only. If I get a
response from Peter I'll let you know but even for very basic navigation
either with or without speech to me it's much quicker and more efficient and
can only improve.

Hi everyone,
FYI, Amy Ruell has ordered one of these Fire tablets for testing inhouse.
Once she has received it and connected to her VarioUltra, my hope is that
she will can post her findings to the list.
