Jim: I would look for the assistance you need through the user guide for the
various tra, and then develop your knowledge through the Jaws training material.
The Varioultra's guide comprehensively describes setup with Jaws.
And yes: it is possible to execute many Windows commands from the display.
Good luck.

All,
My question to all is where might one find a good guide for using a braille
display with a computer. I have been asked to offer guidance to someone who
wants to buy a VU and connect it to a laptop. Though I have had my VU for
quite a while now, I never connected it to my computer. This person uses JAWS
on her laptop and heard there were issues with that VU. I am writing this
message with my Vu connected to my desktop and using JAWS. The connection was
really easy for me but I am just wondering if there is a good manual or guide
anyone knows about to help me learn more quickly. As an example, I just did
the d2,d4,d5,d6 in MS outlook receiving quite a list of shortcut key
combinations; can these be done on a display without use of the computer’s
qwerty keyboard for an example? I have used the key describer feature, which
helps quite a bit.
