Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I forgot to mention--there has not been any habitat manipulation of Beaver Lake by park staff that would explain the mudflats. The new boardwalk along the north western shore was installed in the summer of 2002 but park officials do not believe that the soil was disturbed enough to contribute to the mudflats. The evergreen patches of invasive parrot's feather that are beginning to dominate the western side of the lake and threaten the entire lake may prompt control measures in the near future. this plant contributes a lot of vegetative material to the lake bottom annually (more so than the water lilies and other aquatic plants). --Orcutt -- Binary/unsupported file stripped by Ecartis -- -- Type: image/jpeg -- File: Trees .jpg You are subscribed to VA-Richmond-General.
