This unsettled weather has sent the yard birds into veritable feeding frenzies!
We are gladly re-filling feeders all day long. To our delight, we’ve seen 3
Yellow-rumps Warblers, more than at any time this winter in our yard. What is
a usual winter visitor has not been around this year.
But our “yard list” new addition is a Black Duck!! Some weird changes to the
creek down below have backed it up and flooded our neighbor’s yard. The new
shallow pond today hosted 3 pair of Mallards and a Black Duck. And when it’s
above freezing, the peepers have been deafening.
