My brother and I canoe the upper James yesterday from Columbia to
Cartersville. Fishing was not so good, but we saw two adult bald eagles, a
turkey which flow over the river, and hear/saw Prothonotary warblers. After
years of paddling the James upstream of Richmond it was the first time that
I can remember seeing an eagle that far up the river.
