Hello birders,

Posting on behalf of Arun Bose. See trip report from Richmond Audubon's
annual spring walk at James River Park below.

Good birds,
Ellison

Richmond Audubon Society had a field trip to 42nd Street in the James River
Park System, City of Richmond on May 5. About 21 participants enjoyed a
great spring morning in the park. We observed 77 species in 5 hours.

16 species of warbler made up for the “warbler neck” endured, with
cooperative looks at Bay-breasted and Cape May perhaps being the highlights.

Single Swainson’s Thrush, Gray-cheeked Thrush and Veery were also seen as
well as 2 Wood Thrush.

A few lingering Ruby-crowned Kinglets were along the main trail.

Sparrows were scarce with only White-throated and House Sparrow observed.
However Song Sparrows were indeed singing in the surrounding neighborhoods.

All in all pleasant morning.
