Zack Grasso, our son, joined Gail and me at 42nd St last Saturday for
some better-than-expected birding. A brief window in the rain around
midday allowed for some good birding. We tallied 36 species, including 6
warbler species. The two highlight birds were a Rose-breasted Grosbeak and
a very nice Blue-winged Warbler. Both were seen at close quarters, at/near
the footbridge over the railroad tracks. We've seen BWWA at 42nd St
before, but not often. Seeing him at eye-view and close range from the
footbridge was a real treat. We had just heard 'beee-buzz', and then Zack
spotted him...
