Tina Trice and I visited Turkey Island Rd. in eastern Henrico County today in the hopes of seeing the Greater White-fronted Geese and Cackling Geese that were found there last Saturday. We couldn't find either of those species but did see a ROSS'S GOOSE. It actually stuck out like a sore thumb because it was the only white goose around. It was in the company of a flock of blue morph SNOW GEESE on the left side of the road. There was also a large flock of CANADA GEESE nearby. Ross's Geese have been seen in that area of Henrico for the past several years that I've lived here, mostly during the Hopewell CBC. Good birding. Adam D'Onofrio Dinwiddie Co.
