Kentucky Warblers like wet woodlands with dense undergrowth to nest in, so
urban/suburban landscapes don’t appeal much to them. They have been known to
nest in some of the boggy areas of the Malvern Hill Battlefield Park, so they
can be found around here. You’ll occasionally find one in the city during
migration, but they aren’t too common.

Can someone answer my question...
Just saw a Kentucky Warbler in my yard, foraging at the base of some hedges.
First time ever.
Looks like Richmond is in their territory but very few sightings on eBird
with a 10-year filter with "Richmond City" as location.
Are they just elusive and I was lucky, or you think it might have found a
nice summer home?
Thanks
