A common merg pair was across the river from Rock Falls Dr. at about 8am. 6
grebes, a sleeping canvasback in the usual spot, and all the usual suspects
including a male kingfisher at the mouth of Rattlesnake Creek.. At the
Wetlands were no GHOW (hopefully nesting somewhere!), lots of calling pine
warblers and phoebes, fresh traffic signs at the kingfisher burrows and
kingfisher activity in the vicinity, the other end of the barred owl in the
opening at the nest tree and the other adult keeping watch in plain sight
nearby.. I was able to spot one very brightly colored pine warbler up high
near the golf course. It is a beautiful day to get outside!
