Hello Birders,
I spent about 7 hours birding in the City of Richmond today; Chimborazo
Park, Great Shiplock Park, 42nd St., Byrd Park lakes (am with Ellison
Orcutt), the Wetlands, and the Floodwall (pm). Quite a rewarding day with
69 species for me (Ellison had EASTERN BLUEBIRD and HOODED WARBLER which I
missed) plus a couple of Empidonax Sp.
Highlights included 13 species of warbler with 2 WILSON'S (1 Chimborazo, 1
Wetlands) and a late(ish) NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH (Wetlands). YELLOW-BREASTED
CHAT (Wetlands), PHILADELPHIA VIREO (42nd St.), 3 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 2 RUDDY
DUCK (Swan Lake/Byrd Park). Links to full checklists are below.
