Richmond Audubon Society Meeting, Jan 17th, Thursday 6:30PM
Program: “From Coal Ash to Climate Change”
Kate Addleson the President of the Virginia Sierra Club, will join us
for our annual legislative focus meeting. From Coal Ash to Climate
Change, Kate Addleson has battled for a healthy environment which
protects both birds and people. Now, she is planning to lead in
addressing the Virginia General Assembly with respect to environmental
laws. This will make our air and water more hospitable to birds. Birds
are now more at risk from threats such as coal ash from the federal roll
back of protections previously provided by the Migratory Bird Treaty
Act. Learn what you can ask from your state legislators to protect birds
this winter during the Virginia General Assembly.
We need some volunteers to help with set-up before the meeting and
clean-up after. If you are interested in helping out, please contact
Eileen.
We meet at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 7757 Chippenham Pkwy, Richmond.
Thanks
