Hello all -
Hope everyone is staying cool this week! The summer heat may have you
thinking ahead to cooler seasons, and the RAS Board is thinking ahead to next
spring already. That's because Richmond Audubon Society has been asked to
serve as the hosts for the 2017 Virginia Society of Ornithology's Annual
Convention in the spring. We are very excited about this opportunity and the
chance to showcase the many wonderful birding locations around Central
Virginia. But, we need lots of volunteers to make that project a reality.
We'll need folks to help get speakers and programming scheduled, to lead
field trips, to handle registration and hospitality during the convention, to
handle details relating to the conference facility, and to secure sponsors
and donations for a silent auction. If you are interested in helping out
please respond to me at president@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. We'd like to get a
group of volunteers together soon to get started working out the details.
Thanks!
ERG
