Did in a little after work birding along the James River this evening. From the south side floodwall I saw 3 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS - right on time I think. 3 or 4 pairs of OSPREY have now taken up residence in the area (first was back a few weeks ago). Also this evening 3 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, 75 HERRING, and 1 GREATER BLACK-BACKED GULL. A male COMMON MERGANSER and pair of WOOD DUCK flew down river (not at the same time).
