An hour at Bear Creek Lake SP in Cumberland County yielded some more
first-of-the year sightings/hearings for me. HOODED WARBLER and SCARLET
TANAGER
both singing, and a SPOTTED SANDPIPER was feeding at the mud flat that has
formed where the lake has been drawn down for dam work. There was a pair of
WOOD
DUCKS in a tree.

Interestingly I also saw a pair of WOOD DUCKS in a tree in my yard in
Powhatan this morning, just as I was leaving for Bear Creek.
