RALLY FOR CLEAN ENERGY

JOIN THE SIERRA CLUB, CCAN & OTHERS

VIRGINIA?S CHANCE TO ADDRESS GLOBAL WARMING

IS NOW!

WHEN: Monday, February 19, 11:00 -12:00 noon

WHERE: Bell Tower, Capitol Square, Richmond

LOCATION:

The Bell Tower is on State Capitol grounds, near the intersection of 9th and
Franklin Streets in downtown Richmond

WHO: Sierra Club, Piedmont Environmental Council, Chesapeake Climate
Action

Network, Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy,
Virginia Conservation

Network, and other conservation and consumer organizations

WHAT: Dominion Power is pushing an energy plan through the Virginia General

Assembly that would ?re-regulate? the electric utility industry.
Their plan

would give rate increases to electric companies in exchange for the

construction of new coal-fired power plants. The two bills, HB 3068
and

SB 1416, do not address energy conservation and efficiency, and only
provide

         token incentives for renewable energy.

If Dominion Power?s plan passes, your electric bills will go up, and
electric

companies will build more power plants which contribute to global
warming.
