Hello birders,
I spent my lunch break and some time after work birding Capitol Square in
downtown Richmond. As mentioned previously...this location is an island of
green among the large buildings. It has some large oaks and the perimeter
is landscaped with shrubs and mulch. For the better part of a week it has
collected a nice variety of migrants with some in good numbers. Today
between my two trips I tallied 15 warbler species in addition to other
migrants. Non-warblers included Veery, many Catbirds, Baltimore Oriole,
Red-eyed Vireo, an empid. spp., Great-crested Flycatcher and House Wren.
Some species like Ovenbird, Common Yellowthroat, and Catbird were abundant
and in plain view along the sidewalks. Also, a quick Caspian Tern flyover.

However, If it is raining more than a drizzle you won't see me.
