Larry, thanks again. I assume I'm a list member, as I get messages from the
list!
Always thought "redacted" meant edited or possibly censored, as when lines of a
legally protected document are blacked out. Maybe it is some sort of obsolete
moderated status. I say obsolete because we of the list have certainly been
spammed in the past. Anyway, I promise to be good.
No list operator or moderator gets thanked often enough, so thanks once more
for your patient answers!

I don’t think the “redacted sender” has anything to do with us - anyone is free
to participate in the listserv, not just members. I don’t know why it is
happening, and I haven’t been able to get the internet to tell me, but the
upshot seems to be that is still possible to make public replies to messages
like that, but not to send replies directly to the poster.
