Dear Larry,
Snapping a photo of the unfamiliar bird would have been an excellent idea, but
I have no camera. I'll just keep my eyes open as the same visitors often
return to the smorgasbord here. All I really could do was flip through the
pages of sparrows in Peterson's while I held my breath.
Very distinct head markings and dark spot on center of chest. Now, that I have
it narrowed down, I can look for more details, if the bird accomodates me by
making second trip to this all-you-can-eat affair.
