Darleen Jarry & I birded the Pony Pasture-Wetlands section of JRP this am from 7:30-10:15 - a beautiful windless day. Of the 38 species seen or heard, of note were: the first ( for us ) Red-eyed and White-eyed Vireos of the year - several of each and already on territory; Palm Warbler; several Prothonotary Warblers also on their usual territories; 4 Spotted Sandpipers together; Common Yellowthroats ( in several locations), many Yellow-throated Warblers; Ovenbird; and at least a dozen Bonaparte's Gulls on the river. Lots & lots of Yellow-rumps, everywhere. One Eastern Kingbird, 1 Laughing Gull - and notably, we never heard or saw a LA Waterthrush or a Catbird.
