A fairly cooperative BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was the highlight at the 42nd street section of James River Park in Richmond this morning. Lewis Barnett, Brent and Jane Tarter, Larry Lynch and his friend were there to enjoy it. Other highlights included anywhere from 16-18 species of warbler including WILSON'S, BLACKBURNIAN, CHESTNUT-SIDED, MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, BLACKPOLL, several CANADAS and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH. A few SWAINSON'S THRUSHES were around and the red morph EASTERN SCREECH OWL was out taking a sun bath before we left. The weather couldn't have been any better. Good birding.
