Tina Trice and I spent some time at the Henricus marsh and also did the loop trail at Dutch Gap in Chesterfield County today. A beautiful day highlighted by a nestling GREAT BLUE HERON poking it's head out from the nest that's in the back of the marsh. Also enjoyed were 2 CASPIAN TERNS, singing COMMON YELLOWTHROATS, TREE SWALLOWS buzzing around the marsh, eye level YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS singing vociferously, our first PALM WARBLER of the spring, a "western" palm, singing BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS and, of course, the nesting OSPREYS. The complete list from e-bird is below. Good birding. Adam D'Onofrio Dinwiddie Co.
