Fox Sparrow is noticeably bigger than Song Sparrow, is much redder and is gray on the back of the head and upper part of the back. They both have central "stick pin" spots on the breast, but Fox doesn't have the two little dark triangles at the base of the throat that Song has. Wendy Ealding
