On Monday, July 20th, the organizational committee of ‘Gone to the Birds” will decide whether or not to proceed with the Festival. Currently, the number of roosting birds is only one-tenth of what it was last year partly due to large amounts of rainfall that has caused nest failures in the Northeast.
Go to www.gonetothebirds.org to see the decision on Monday evening where it will be posted. There is the possibility that the Festival may be held on Saturday, August 15th. More importantly, we need to think about what can be done to ensure species survival next year.
