FYI ----- Original Message ----- From: Patrick Musselwhite To: audubon@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, January 02, 2004 3:41 PM Subject: Bald Eagle sighting Today at 1:00 p.m. I saw what I believe to be a Bald Eagle in Goochland County just west of Henrico County on RT . 250. There is a swamp that lies just west of Gardners Nursery. The bird was perched in a tree about 200 yards into the swamp. The coloring was brown with snow white head feathers. I have seen a bald eagle along the James from the Annabelle Lee a couple of years ago. I first spotted the bird as I was traveling East on Rt. 250. I turned around and went back again. This time I drove slower. Not having binoculars and with not wanting to stop in the road I got the best look I could. I do believe it was a Bald Eagle and thought the society would like to know if someone else has not already said something. This may not be something new, but I have lived here 13 years and have never seen an Eagle on that stretch of road. Turkeys, yes, Buzzards, yes many times , but never an Eagle until today.
