Hello all,
I'm sad to share that Fenton Day passed away last weekend. Fenton was a
lifelong birder and all around naturalist who called Richmond home for most
of his adult life. Fenton will be remembered as one of Virginia's
foremost birders. He took pride in his encyclopedic knowledge of bird
distribution in the state and shared that knowledge willingly. He was woven
deeply into the social fabric of birding in Virginia. Fenton's love for a
good chat about topics related to birding facilitated communications among
birders around the state that will continue after his passing. He was a
dear friend whom taught me much of what I know about birding in Virginia
and I miss him daily.
Services for Fenton will be held this evening at Woody Funeral Home on
Parham Rd.
