The rain stopped, the sun came out and the canoe went in the water. Bob Harris and I were happy to be able to set out to survey Prothonotary warbler boxes. Many Osprey, Bald Eagles (mature and immature) were seen and no wonder with all the fish that were jumping. Great Crested Flycatchers, Kingbirds and Yellow-throated warblers were calling along the way. Of course Prothonotary bird song dominated the marshes. A Warbling Vireo was singing as well as Orchard Orioles and Scarlet Tanagers. Deer were seen running in the woods and marsh vegetation It was a great afternoon/evening to be out.
