The birdwalk at Cumberland Marsh, scheduled for Saturday morning on December 10th, will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. There is one spot near the pond that is usually juicy so it's best to wear boots. The marsh should have lots of ducks and who knows what we'll find around the pond and forest edges! Here are directions to Cumberland Marsh: From Richmond, head east on I-64 and exit on SR 155 toward New Kent. Turn left, north, on SR 155 and proceed a few miles to SR 249. Turn right on SR 249 and drive through New Kent and watch for SR 637 just beyond the town limits. Look for a small sign for Cumberland Hospital. Turn left onto SR 637 (Cumberland Road towards Cumberland Hospital) and drive 2.3 miles to the entrance to the preserve. There is signage toward a small track that leads to a TNC message board and parking. Before you turn left into the preserve you'll see Cumberland Hospital ahead.
