How long has it been since you found the nest? On average, the full
breeding cycle from nest building to fledging is about a month, give or
take.

Hi all,
A Carolina Wren has built a nest in a hanging basket on our front porch.
I haven't seen any activity in a couple days, where before that I have
seen wrens flying in and out. Occasionally it looked like they had
something in their beaks, so I assumed they were bringing food to
hatchlings. But I never looked up inthere in order to avoid spooking
them.
This morning I looked into the nest and it's empty, so is it safe to
assume that they have bred, and the hatchlings have flown the nest?
I would like to replant the basket, but I don't want to ruin the nest if
they still need it.
Thanks in advance,
