What a perfect day to take my grandson Noah to his first birdbanding! He
really enjoyed the close-up views of the birds, and was thrilled to be able to
release two of them. Species he got to see were: Brown Thrasher, Common
Yellowthroat, Indigo Bunting, Carolina Wren, Swamp Sparrow, Northern Cardinal,
and Savannah Sparrow. Julie banded her birds like a pro! Irene Ries assisted
her and Bob Reilly. The banding was very well attended by birders of all ages.
A really great family birding event.
