The Belle Isle field trip today included a contingent of 6 birders, and resulted in a tally of 30 species. It was a beautiful, although rather nippy morning that started off fairly slowly, but improved as time moved on. We began with a long scope look at an American Kestral from the parking lot. The most notable birds we saw were a juvenile Bald Eagle, Pied-billed Grebe, and several Pine Warblers on the back side of the island. We saw what looked like a Chimney Swift, although we thought they should have gone to points south a few weeks ago. Here is the list so far. If there are any additions, please post them.
