Another beautiful day to go birding, this time at Bear Creek Lake SP in 
Cumberland County, which is one of the field trip sites for the annual VSO 
meeting in Farmville April 23-25.  The witch hazel is blooming, there were lots 
of frogs and toads calling, and the bird highlights were OSPREY and singing 
PINE WARBLERS and CHIPPING SPARROWS providing a nice study opportunity for the 
contrast in their songs.
