I would revise baseball rules to protect birds: a pitched ball hitting a bird is an automatic balk, and the runners advance one base; if a batter's batted ball hits a bird, he's out, and the runners must hold onto their current bases; and if a ball thrown by a fielder hits a bird, it's an automatic error even if the ball reaches the base on time to put out the batter or runner.
