It's baseball season again. That is hazardous for birds. For example,

Baseball is for the birds sometimes. Here's another example, that occurred
recently:

-backs/  . Good thing the ball didn't hit a bird. 

 

I would revise baseball rules to protect birds: a pitched ball hitting a
bird is an automatic balk, and the runners advance one base; if a batter's
batted ball hits a bird, he's out, and the runners must hold onto their
current bases; and if a ball thrown by a fielder hits a bird, it's an
automatic error even if the ball reaches the base on time to put out the
batter or runner.

 

Of course birds must also be protected from Flying Squirrels.
