Dear Richmond Birders: Last Thursday I was at the Henricus Bluff when a mature Bald Eagle flew in and landed on a tree almost directly overhead. With the help of Captain Mike Ostrander of Discover the James, I have identified it as the female 'Bandit" who along with her mate 'the Duke' rules the roost around Henricus. It is a privilege to have such a close encounter with an iconic wild bird like the Bald Eagle. It is doubly exciting that I was able to record the event and share it with you. Naseem Reza
