Went with my family to Chincoteague for the weekend. We had some fun visiting a variety of spots. Hit them quick so that I didn't burn out the twins or 4 year old. Here are the ones I noticed... CHESAPEAKE BAY BRIDGE TUNNEL Brown Pelican Herring Gull Forster's Tern Double-crested Cormorant Laughing Gull Rock Dove American Oystercatcher Ruddy Turnstone Common merganser Ring-billed Gull Brant Great Black-backed Gull EASTERN SHORE REFUGE Common Grackle American Crow Osprey Eastern Bluebird Northern Cardinal Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Gray Catbird Chipping Sparrow Herring Gull Northern Mockingbird Black Vulture Greater Yellowlegs Great Egret Swamp Sparrow Killdeer Northern Flicker European Starling Common Loon American Robin Mourning Dove Barn Swallow American Kestrel OYSTER Snowy Egret Great Egret Ring-billed Gull Herring Gull Canada Goose Bufflehead Northern Harrier Common Loon BROWNSVILLE FARM (Got there about noon and didn't see a lot. Most were found amongst the docks & parking area) Red-winged Blackbird Double-crested Cormorant Great black-backed gull Herring gull Laughing gull American Robin Turkey Vulture Black Vulture CHINCOTEAGUE REFUGE Great Egret Forster's Tern European Starlings Ring-billed Gulls Canada Geese Laughing Gull Mallard Pied-Billed Grebe American Black Duck American Crow Killdeer Mourning Doves AmericanRobins Willit Double-Crested Cormorants Osprey Bald Eagle American Oystercatchers (our favorites) Herring Gulls Lesser Yellowlegs Black Vulture Gadwall Northern Shoveler American Wigeon Green-winged teal Black-bellied Plover Green Heron Tree swallow an otter crossing the road and of course the ponies What a wonderful trip. It felt like most of the waterfowl were gone (though there were hundreds) and that the spring shorebirds hadn't arrived yet. Cheers, Robert McLemore Maidens, VA
